2009, this year in review...

I am rolling through in another big ball of bleh. No inspiration for the blog. All good things are going on but when I try to come up with a post I dunno... I get to thinking "Oh... who cares?"

Does anyone really care that I can't roll a bowling ball down the lane without it going into the gutter?

Nope, no one could care less that I actually made it past the 7th frame without knocking one pin over (although other patrons nearby found it funny--one of those "You had to be there" kinds of funny.)

Then I took the slightest sliver of skin off the tip of a finger using our Christmas gift to each other, a set of Wustof knives. Sparing you the bloody photo but it is amazing how much a finger can bleed. It got me out of doing the dishes that evening and I now have a new-found respect for fine German cutlery.

My left girl got retraumatized by the mean old mammogram machine. Unless it comes back and says time for another biopsy... I am not concerned so no one should care about that either.

Our darling and talented daughter-in-law now works for the "W." (The "W" as in hotels... not the "W" that may first come to mind.) She arranged for the six of us to stay at a Starwood resort in Scottsdale at a killer rate plus we got a 50% discount on all food. There is no way we could afford it otherwise. The food was great but the prices were still ZOMG!

She also hired a professional photographer, Erika Griffin, to do a photo shoot of us at the resort the next morning. Erika put this little slide show together:

I still need to decide what photos to buy. In fact it is something I should be doing now instead of struggling to write this post. No one cares about that either (except maybe Erika!)

On the work front we have opened our retail/gallery to the public. There are three of us that share the responsibility of maintaining retail hours. I love it. People wander in, ask questions and often times teach me a thing or two about our Southwestern culture.

We are gearing up for a Grand Opening Reception on January 16th while continuing to prepare for our big fund-raiser of the year on February 20th. This weekend I will photograph my third printmaking workshop with my absolutely favorite master printer not to mention a lovely group of talented artists!

A couple of artists who already printed this year have begun work on the mural that will be our floor. Here is Jose and Oliverio getting started...

On top of everything else... I am making changes to our website and adding a group blog. I can only imagine the neglect this one will get once I get that one up and rolling but now that I have made my whiny "I don't know what to blog about" post I may get back up and rolling on this one as well.

Then again... who cares?

I care!

I'm a crappy bowler but I like glo-bowling because all the blacklights remind me of my room in the 70s.

I also know how much fingers can bleed..althoug I usually smash mine at the same time so I don't know which hurts more?

I will be a gentlemen and wish your left girl luck..and leave it at that

HA! You know I care, you whiny girl. ;) You're just feeling unmotivated...

What a fun weekend!! The slide show was great, if a bit fast for these old eyeballs. There were LOTS of beautiful shots! Erika did a great job. My vote for a "must buy" is the portrait-y one of you two near the end. Definitely a framer!

LOL...pretty soon, you're gonna need to expand your gallery into the next room!

Happy New Year, K! Love you! ~ J

Yea, you're right.......NOT!

I love how you bitch and moan about not having anything to blog about while you blog about it. You're actually much better at it than I am! Makes me jealous sometimes.

If you are getting involved in a group blog, let me remind you about freedom's Place? Remember Freedom's Place? He he.........stap in, babe, it's gonna be one wild ride! But if you are doing it thinking the group will take the pressure off, forget it, because I will be expecting you to post MORE often than the rest of them, not less! I am a demanding fan, if anything!

Sorry about the girl. My wife can sympathize!

Donn, your comments always bring a smile to my face and I adored the Christmas photo you sent to me of your crew. What a good-looking bunch! Lefty, as I shall call her from now on… no news is good news so all is well so far.

Jewels… er… I mean Jules… I mean Julie, your new blogger avatar is almost as stunning as seeing you in person. You finally captured you... or maybe Scotty did. Wow. I agree with the pic you mentioned… I think it’s gonna make the final cut.

Ha ha ha Michael… ahhh Freedom’s Place… that was a wild ride. This one will be a little different because the members will be folks I see often and I won’t hesitate to use a rubber mallet on their noggins if they start acting up. My husband gets approached often with folks who swear they have seen him before so maybe he should be on TV.

My love to your wife.

Snake… who could ever forget you!

Much love to all.
