We brought in the new year with New York. We may make it to mountain time...
In the meantime I made a smart playlist with anything that has the word "love" in it.
Dancing about the house as my dear sweet husband drifts in and out of consciousness. ("Zero to Love" by Del McCoury playing now... "Love Struck Baby" by Stevie Ray Vaughn on deck...
Gotta go dance!
I love you all.

Do not try this at home...
... actually there is no place like home but my preference would be in a hotel room...
Warning. This may be a little TMI for most of you.
My Dear Husband... my poor dear husband.
The last thing he ate last night was a bowl of popcorn and today has been restricted to a clear liquid diet. Yes, tomorrow he has his first colonoscopy.
He came home from work at lunchtime. At 1pm he swallowed four 5 mg tablets of Dulcolax. At 3pm began drinking 64 ounces of Lemon Gatorade laced with 8.3 ounces of MiraLAX. I called him from work to see how he was doing.
"I am making Jello. We are having Jello for dinner tonight." Yum!
I got home around 4pm as he was half way through the gatorade.
"Any luck yet?"
"Nope. But I am beginning to feel full."
Around 5:15 he told me he felt tingly in his tummy and was only minutes away. Now he decides to weigh himself to get a before and after reading. I continue reading my Vanity Fair with the T.V. droning on in the background.
At 5:15:30 I simultaneously hear him plunk the scale down on the tile floor along with a bunch of yips and yelps. I think I also heard, "I am not going to make it!!!"
Oh no. I tear down the hallway and stop outside the bathroom.
"Are you ok?"
"I need a cleaning rag."
I throw one in through the cracked door (I am not going in there. NO WAY!)
"You have got to see this! Come here."
"No."
"Just look through the crack of the door. Look at the toilet."
And like a rubbernecking fool passing a car accident I had to look. He had blasted a little on the toilet seat and then sat on it.
"uhhhaaacckkkggg" I gag.
Now I need some eye bleach please. Fun times!

Marv's Art
In the previous post I mentioned helping Marv apply resin to the portrait of his son made from recyled aluminum cans. Later that day I also photographed him on a dumpster dive. He needed photos for his very first movie.

How to Feel Better
I was not feeling so well last week. I dunno if it was a mild flu or simply mild depression but I knew the only person who could make it better was me.

When I have no energy I take advantage of my ability to nap. If possible, napping with a friend is always the best.

Sharing is a nice pick-me-up too...

As well as playing with friends.

I highly recommend spending some quality time with children. I babysat Ben the other night and he kept me entertained while showing me a website called Fantastic Contraption.
Kids these days... wow.

Recalling fond childhood memories help. Erica and C.J. often remind me of those silly fun times I had with my brother... that is when we weren't fighting. :)

With creativity at an all time low I was honored to help my friend Marv apply resin to a portrait he did of his son using bits of aluminum cans.
His work is Marv-elous!
More on this later.

Finally... today I had the opportunity to show some of my art to one of our board members.
I was a little hesitant at first because I am not one to sell myself.
She gave me lots of encouragement and ideas. I realized that I need to either sell my art or give it away. If I keep it near me I may get a creativity block (which I have.)
I need to get out there and show it to people. Might as well start with the four or five of you that read my blog. :)
So here are some of my favorite pieces. These pieces are all here looking over my shoulder (with the exception of the table) and holding me back.
I am about to let them go.
Wish me luck.
And now... off to read some of my favorite blogs...
(PS. To my good friends who have been sending me good light and energy, blessings, prayers, non-prayers and positively beautiful witchy spells... thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have felt them.
Followup doctor appts are set up and I have no fear that my results will be anything but positive.)
